Four Sifrei Torah were completed Wednesday in a grand Siyum celebration to mark the opening of the Kinus Hashluchim 5774.
The celebration was held at Yeshivas Chovevei Torah hall in Crown Heights, with the completion of the final letters of 4 Sifrei Torah, and the beginning of a 5th Sefer Torah.
The 5 Sifrei Torah were announced as donated by an anonymous donor in honor of the Rebbe and the thousands of Shluchim he sent to all corners of the world to care for Kol Hayehudim Baolom.
At the event, it was clear that the donor was Chilean businessman Leonardo Farkas Klein, known for his mining business successes as well as his philanthropy.
Joyous singing and dancing were led by renowned singer Avraham Fried. A simultaneous children’s program was held with singer Chaim Fogelman.
The crowd of over 2,000 people then paraded down Eastern Parkway towards 770 where the traditional Hakofos were held.
