Animal Rights But No Financial Rights?

Watch: Anti kapparos activists were seen secretly stealing chickens from the Crown Heights kapparos, causing financial harm to the organization who purchased them and to the needy who were to be fed by them. If you can identify any of them, please contact the NYPD. Video

These protesters are doing tremendous good. I spoke witha number of them and they were all meat eaters. They were only opposed to the despicable treatment of hashems creates. I have no clue why we can’t unite with them for decent treatment of the chickens (and roosters. They deserve fine treatment too)

Do you honestly think that hashem is against using chickens for kapporos?
Do you honestly think that this is considered “despicable” treatment of chickens?
Do you need someone to inform you how the meat and chicken you eat come to be?

Haahem created them for us to use them for spiritual purposes. They were meant to be used for kapporos, a higher purpose than a life of clucking and scratching or a life to end up as a bucket of KFC. Someone who doesn’t understand this probably won’t understand much of the Avodah of Yom Kippur that we just read about, or korbonos in general…

Kaporas is important. But so is tzar baalei chaim.

Why do people have to hold the chickens by the wings? How many wings are broken this way? Why not hold them gently?

It’s time we live our values. We don’t need others to point out the obvious.
