Amidst Rockets in Tzfat, Minyan is Building and Growing

Since its inception in 2017, the Artist Quarter Minyan, an American non-profit founded by Rabbi Zalman and Chana Traxler, has been a beacon of hope for the impoverished residents of Tzfat. With a steadfast commitment to aiding those in need, they have distributed over $1 million to various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the less fortunate.

From providing coupons for essential goods to directly assisting with monthly expenses such as groceries, utilities, and medical bills, their vital efforts have touched the lives of countless families. It’s not only the financial support that they offer, but also a sense of community and belonging.

At the heart of their mission lies a warm and inclusive environment centered around their historic 400-year-old shul, the Artist Quarter Minyan. Every Shabbos, the Artist Quarter Minyan, geared for the English-speaking community of Tzfat, resonates with lively singing by the many who come together to connect spiritually and forge meaningful relationships.

Looking ahead, the Artist Quarter Minyan is embarking on their latest endeavor: the construction of a state-of-the-art Community Kitchen. This initiative is aimed to launch a Meals on Wheels program to cater to needy families, elderly individuals, shut-ins, and new mothers, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry or overlooked.

In conjunction with the Community Kitchen, they plan to provide affordable meal options for families celebrating special occasions at the shul and upcoming Simcha hall. Additionally, the kitchen will serve as a lifeline for refugees and IDF soldiers in need of nourishment and support.

The land was generously paid for by the children of Bubby Hilda, now the funds are needed to build the kitchen.
