“The Fierce Battle: a Chof Daled Teves Adventure,” makes the Alter Rebbe’s story, of his going on mesiras nefesh to humble Napoleon, come alive. The captivating audio is produced by Tzivos Hashem and recorded by Rabbi Sholem Perl, a veteran Los Angeles teacher.
“Rabbi Perl is truly a master storyteller…he has a talent shared by few,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, director of the project and of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem. Indeed, the suspenseful tale captures the imagination of children of all ages—with its theatrical drama, music, and sound effects. “We are excited to share this new production with the chayolim of Tzivos Hashem,” Rabbi Weinbaum continues.
The CD will be selling in stores at retail value of $14.99, but soldiers registered in Chayolei Tzivos Hashem will be able to purchase a copy for the discounted price of $10.
“I believe that these stories portray true Torah values…[and are] based on the teachings of the Chazal and our rebbeim,” says Rabbi Perl. “My hope is that these stories will affect the hearts and minds of today’s youth.”
Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, director of MyShliach, an organization dedicated to the well-being of Shluchim’s children, says, “This is a dream come true for parents who are shluchim in remote cities around the world. The nachas they get from watching their children sit down and listen to the story of Chof Daled Teves for forty-five minutes…makes this whole project worthwhile.”
To further increase the CD’s impact, Rabbi Sholom Heidingsfeld, Base Commander of Cheder Menachem LA, has prepared a quiz with over seventy questions to accompany the audio soundtrack. Teachers are finding that by using the quiz along with the CD, their students pay a lot more attention to every detail of the story.

What an amazing year that was for me. To be in Rabbi Perl’s class. I remember, my mother fighting with the principal, to have me in Rabbi Perl’s class. My mother said, that the principal had many requests, for their sons to be in his class.
I wish he was teaching today, so I, and my son could have that same memorable experience.

A mother looking for good stories for kids
My dear shver was, is, and will always be an amazing teacher , his stories are a true asset for our kinderlach , and he continues to be a true dugma ,for all his friends and family and grandchildren .
A true loss for the children that didn’t have him as a teacher.
Now Baruch HaShem the kids can relive chasidishe yomim toivim through his dynamic way of telling these stories .

How can you compare Rabbi Sholom Perl to those Rebbes?
I understand that they are good, but nowhere close to the Love and attention Rebbe Perl gave to each of us in class. A true Chossid of the Rebbe, a true Dugma Chaya (The good old days Rebbi)

How can you say, there are no great Rebbes like Rabbe Perl.
What about Gerlitsky from Oholei Torah, Rabbi Veli Karp, and Avrohom Baruch Karp.
Yes, Rebbi Perl is one of the best, and dedicated Rebbes, but, don’t knock other Rebbes.
No hard feelings Shmully, but we grew up in the same town.
