In a rare move and a show of unity, all the local Crown Heights schools have signed a joint letter calling on their parent body and the general community to go out and register to vote.
This is following the letter released earlier by the Rabbonim, askonim, business leaders, and shuls calling on the community to register and vote.
In addition, a very large voter registration drive is currently underway that is being led by a group of young and old from within the community who are coming together to ensure that our community’s voice is heard and represented in the coming elections.
To request a registration ballot, please email [email protected], or call the CHJCC at 718-771-9000. All ballots can be picked up and submitted to the Board of Elections on behalf of those registering. All one needs to do is email the above address stating such. The deadline to register to vote is May 27th.
The letter from the schools reads as follows:
Dear Parent,
On Tuesday, Yud Beis Tammuz (June 22, 2021), they city will hold the democratic primary election for Mayor, Comptroller, Borough President and members of the New York City Council. (There are three council districts that serve Crown Heights. Districts 40, 35 and 41.)
The people chosen in this election will run New York City for the next four years, and will have a major impact on the lives of every family and individual in Crown Heights, but most importantly on our schools.
There are forces who are working tirelessly to undermine and hurt our Yeshivas. Therefore, we are calling on you dear parent to please help us fight to protect our Yeshivas. We need you to go out register and vote. Your vote will help us unite with our fellow Jewish brothers and sisters across other communities in the city to ensure we protect and secure the future of our Yeshivas. Every vote will count and make a difference!
We must make sure that every person over 18 in our homes are registered at his or her Crown Heights address to vote.
So, please help us to help you, and vote to protect our community, our way of life and most importantly our children’s future. Their future is in your hands and the hands of those elected.

Vote Moshiach! “Their future is in your hands and the hands of those elected. “This statement is false everything is in the hands of G-d alone, Yes we need to do our part
Everything has to go thru derech Hateva
In OUR particular dostrict the NYC the primaries decide the general election! It is very important to register as a Democrate for that reason! It’s been established that our voting block is 15k provided that more people register and most importantly vote! In tight primaries like former more conservative Democrate state Senator Jessie Hamiltion who was a friend to our community, who respected religious freedom and parential rights as demonstrated not only in his voting record, but by Bill’s he sponsored ! HE lost in a small margin Primary 6/18 to uber progressive Senator Myrie , one of chief architects… Read more »
