Chassidim and followers of the Rebbe began to recite chapter 114 in Tehillim today, Tuesday, which they will be doing every morning for the next year in honor of the Rebbe.
The custom in sourced in the words of the Alter Rebbe in the name of the Baal Shem Tov to say the chapter of Tehillim corresponding to one’s age each day after shacharis. Chassidim say the Rebbe’s as well is be connected to him.
Before the Rebbe accepted the leadership of Chabad, he encouraged Chassidim to say the Frierdiker Rebbe’s kapital to open themselves up to receive his blessings.
In fact, the Rebbe wrote exclusive letters of gratitude to Chassidim who publicized the practice of saying the Frierdiker Rebbe’s kapital every day. Chassidim in this generation have been doing the same.
To encourage children to recite chapter 114, Tzivos Hashem has printed 6,000 copies of the new capital. You can download and print it here.
