Albany’s High School girls Yud Shvat programs took them from their Bnos Chaya Classes to the NY State Capital and onward to the “Chabad Capital” in Crown Heights for Chof Bais Shvat.
After studying the Rebbe’s “Kuntres Inyana shel Toras HaChassidus” unique view of Life and Torah, they farbrenged with Mrs. Chaya Bracha Rubin (whose husband Dr. Yehoshua Rubin works in Albany’s high-tech) on preparing oneself to write a “Pan,” with gratitude-attitude, as students shared how the Rebbe’s Bracha and teachings personally affects them.
This inspiration flowed into a Clifton Park Chabad Shabbaton with their Principal Leah Rubin. After an interactive Shabbos meal with guests from different backgrounds, they sang Niggunim late into the night. On Shabbos afternoon they got so absorbed in “Kuntres U’Maayan” with concepts that tied into their recent in-depth Chumash studies that they didn’t even realize that Shabbos was over!
After Havdalah and homemade sushi they headed down to Albany’s communal Yud-Shvat Farbrengen where local Anash each shared a meaningful smorgasbord of personal highlights of the Rebbe’s Basi L’Gani Mamorim over the years. They also screened recent JEM’s My Encounter clips on the various ways people connect and live with the Rebbe.
On Tuesday morning they prepared fruit and cake platters for Chabad’s Tu-Bishvat Capital reception, where NYS legislators welcomed them, recalling Chabad Shluchim in their home districts all across New York State. They are pictured here in the NYS Capitol building with NYS Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, Shliach Rabbi Yisroel Rubin, Regional Director of Chabad of the Capital Region (or Northeastern NY), Assembly member David Weprin and Assembly member Harvey Weisenberg.
The extended Yud-Shvat inspiration continues in their upcoming Chof-Bais Shvat visit to the Ohel and Crown Heights.
Go my cousins! Luv u guys!
where else is every single girl tznius, chasidish, talented in her own way, gives to the community? Bnos Chaya in Albany gives the girls the tools and inspiration to become the leaders of tomorrow! (maybe it’s because they have such strong role models like the Rubin women, Nechama Laber, Clara Simon, Leah Caras, Dini Gordon etc)
