Hurricane Ida came and went, leaving destruction in her path. Ten Shluchim and their families have ridden out the storm, maintaining their mission to cater to and care for their communities.
The natural disaster has left the shluchim (and millions of others) without power and has caused significant damage to their homes, compromising the safety of their families in the extreme. The outage is predicted to be a prolonged one, leaving the residents of greater New Orleans with a gaping hole of uncertainty ahead. We can help.
Within the first hours of losing power, the Shluchim foresaw that the food in their fridge and freezers wouldn’t last, and in true leadership fashion, they put it to good use, organizing community-wide barbecues (the only means of cooking currently possible), providing hot meals to hundreds.
The Aid For Ida campaign aims to raise $50K with the goal of reassuring the Shluchim with the knowledge that they and their families will be cared for. And they, in turn, will continue to care for so many others.
A group of matchers has stepped in to double every donation, providing the essential and immediate relief needed on the ground. Visit Shluchim.fund/ida where every dollar you donate will become two! Your contribution will fund the purchase of generators, daily meals, and clean drinking water, along with providing the essential peace of mind the Shluchim and their families so urgently need.
Every dollar you donate to Aid for Ida will uphold the immediate relief for Shluchim and countless others in the aftermath of this disaster.
Double the donation. Double the relief.
