the article implies that only at times like now are the parents responsible for the result of their child’s education. this is false. parents always have the largest impact on the turnout of their child; not the school

FYI NYC public schools stopped using Zoom as it is not a safe platform-people can get into your meetings. They are using Google Meet.

Would love to see other schedules
I have a feeling that this level of learning for this grade is way below what they are used to!

April 20, 2020 9:32 am

While other schools have been doing it for over a month!!! Here parents are still paying full tuition for 45 minute class???

Parents

Are human beings and this is an unrealistic expectation unnecessarily being hoisted on them. Parents should try their best but not everyone can or should manage…. this could actually be harmful.

Devices

We’ve been managing until now because everyone only had an hour a day. We can’t be the only family that doesn’t have one device per child, can we? How are we supposed to manage this?

Not that bad

-NYC is helping people get access to devices: https://coronavirus.schools.nyc/remotelearningdevices

-also perhaps contact the school, they might have extra laptops/ipads. You can also ask around to see if people have extra old phones or tablets.

Nyc is giving free tablets to their students Pre k and up. Does that include private schools that get city-state funding?
