Renowned and cutting-edge modest fashion label SOLIKA, based in Los Angeles, CA, has announced a Brooklyn pop-up shop at 333 Albany Avenue in organization with Rochel Raitman from classiquevents.
The pop-up shop will be open Friday, June 16 from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. and Sunday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. The shop will feature brand-new designs being showcased for the first time alongside longtime favorites and collection items.
But Solika proprietors Sarah Haller and Chaya Israily say that the biggest draw is simply reconnecting with old customers and meeting with new ones after an 8-year absence from Crown Heights.
Since its founding in 2013, SOLIKA has enjoyed immense popularity among the community, as their sophisticated and modest designs sell out as fast as they are produced. As demand increased, SOLIKA transitioned from the wholesale model to where they now sell their products through a state-of-the-art online marketplace, streamlining the process and enabling them to serve many more customers. But while the convenience and accessibility have been enjoyed by so many, SOLIKA’s founders say they miss the good old days of chatting with each customer as they browsed through the selection.
“Ever since we transitioned to our online store, we’ve always wanted to have the opportunity to reconnect with our customers,” said Haller. “That’s why we’re so excited to be hosting this Crown Heights pop-up shop over the weekend.”
SOLIKA derives its name from the tragic, yet heroic tale of a Moroccan woman who stood up for the ideals of modesty with mesiras nefesh — a standard that the fashion label’s founders look towards as they mark ten years of creating modest and fashionable clothing in their signature tonal palettes and distinct fabrications.
“SOLIKA’s line has become popular across the country in diverse communities,” said Israily. “We’re proud to be enabling thousands of women from all walks of life — Jews, Muslims and Christians — to feel more comfortable and confident, and we’re excited to once again be bringing the SOLIKA experience to the Crown Heights community, who have supported our vision from day one.
