Some notify their communities and the local Jewish population about the High Holidays with home mailings or newspapers listings.
In Glasgow, they are spreading the words on a trailer and billboards.
A “Shana Tova” campaign by Lubavitch of Scotland announcing the upcoming new Jewish year was mounted on 2 giant billboard in two of the busiest intersections in the city.
Another advertisement was placed on a trailer driving around, reminding Jews of Rosh Hashana, Yom Kipper and Chabad’s activities for them.
The campaign was sponsored by the Five Towns real estate agent Sholom Jacobs and his wife Pessy. Sholom’s parents, Rabbi Chaim and Sora Jacobs, are the Directors of Lubavitch Scotland.
“One can never quantify the power of the awareness created through an advert,” said Rabbi Jacobs.
‘It can touch so many different people in so many different ways. It is just another powerful tool to spread the Mayonois of Chassidus and Torah and Mitzvah to Chutzo literally in every possible sense of the word.”
Carry on the great work. Kesivah veChasimah Toivah
