Accessible Sukkah Welcomes All in Florida

“Excuse me, did you have a chance to shake the lulav and esrog today?” That was the joyful question dancing through the crowds in the beautiful city of Tamarac, Florida this chol hamoed Sukkos.

Thanks to the shluchim of Chabad of Tamarac – Rabbi Mendy and Chanie Engel and Rabbi Kopel and Goldie Silberberg – hundreds of Jews around the city had the chance to shake the lulav and esrog and even step into a sukkah on the go!

They were equipped with a trailer-backed Sukkah mobile that boasted a unique ramp, allowing the crowds – especially the elderly – to comfortably and easily step on board.

Everyone had a chance to join in on this special mitzvah including the Mayor of Tamarac Mrs. Chaya Yosefa (Michelle) Gomez.

The Sukkah mobile made stops at local supermarkets, shopping centers, old age homes, senior communities, and even some private homes.
