Another track is being released from the Yess Legacy double album – this one suiting the Sefira mourning period.
“G-d Is My Strength and My Song,” a hopeful song from the legendary Jewish musician Moshe Yess OBM, was recorded in an acapella version.
The song was produced, arranged and performed by Yerachmiel Ziegler with the help of “Jewish Star” alum Aaron Holder (who is also a featured artist on the Yess Legacy).
Recorded by Ziegler and Ovadia Tank, the single seems to come at a most appropriate time, when the Chabad community suffered from 4 deaths in a day last week and the horrific bombings at the Boston Marathon this week.
LYRICS:
It seems like everybody’s got a frown
I don’t know why
they got their smiles upside down
Take your frown and throw it right away
And just sing this song with me
and everything will be okay
G-d is my strength and my song
Even if skies are cloudy and everything’s going wrong
I know that the sunshine’s coming on
G-d is my strength and my song
And when it gets you down and feeling blue and you get to feeling helpless like
you do Here’s something that will make it go away with this very simple song
you’ll feel okay.
G-d is my strength and my song
Even if skies are cloudy and everything’s going wrong
I know that the sunshine’s coming on
G-d is my strength and my song
