Aaron Goldsmith, a longtime resident of Postville, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, 18 Tishrei, 5781.
He was 63.
Aaron was born in Toronto and grew up in Chicago. As a bochur he learned in the Yeshiva for American students in Kfar Chabad, Israel.
He was a manufacturer of custom electric hospital beds, and a longtime active member in the Postville Chabad community.
Aaron was an activist in communal affairs, and served on the local City Council. In his job on the council he was able to assist with many community issues, and was always there to help anyone when needed.
He is survived by his five children.
The Levaya will take place today in Chicago, IL at 2:30 PM, 1300 Des Plains Ave.

Aaron was always very welcoming during my visits to Postville in 2016. He always went out of his way to make me feel welcome and at home and shared with me stories of his involvement representing the local community. I’m sorry to hear of this loss.
