The kesubah has little relevance these days in America and most countries . Upon the husband’s death , all money goes automatically to the wife. In a marriage, all assets belong to both of them . The kesubah was designed in a time when women rights were not equal to their husband’s, so it offered some protection for her . American law protects women much more .
