Machne Israel—Lubavitch has launched the writing of a Sefer Torah in honor of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson ע”ה ז”ל, wife of the Lubavitcher Rebbe זי”ע.
To give everyone the opportunity to be part of this Sefer Torah, letters, words, verses and entire portions are available for sponsorship.
The writing of the Torah will begin on the Rebbetzin’s 123rd birthday, 25 Adar II — April 4, and will be leading up to her 124th birthday next year.
Proceeds from the sponsorships will benefit the Keren Hachomesh Charitable Foundation, the charity established by the Rebbe and named for the Rebbetzin. The fund advances opportunities for Jewish women and girls, economically educationally and socially.
The Torah will be kept in the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s home, and will be used for Torah reading on special days and occasions.
