An appeal from Benjy Stock:
The wonderful month of Tishrei is filled with both Ruchnius and in Gashmius. And there is never enough preparation.
Let’s focus for a moment on the Gashmius – new Yom Tov clothing and shoes so that everyone will look just right. Honey, fish heads, kreplach and that roast for the Sukkah. This anticipation brings much excitement among our friends and family.
However, for way too many Crown Heights families, these thoughts bring anxiety and dread, not knowing how they will be able to provide the Yom Tov needs for their loved ones.
We all know only too well how dismal the global economy is. Unfortunately, the situation in Crown Heights is even worse. There are growing numbers of widows and orphans, families struck by tragic illness, breadwinners who have lost their jobs, and all sorts of other situations.
These people are our fellow Lubavitchers, our neighbors and relatives, and they need a great deal of help right now. We can not turn our backs on our very own.
For the first time in the history of Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’yom Tov
(CSSY), a general appeal cannot sufficiently supply the needs of all those who are calling out to us.
That’s why I am turning to You. I would be happy to visit you personally and ask you for a donation, but you know that’s impossible.
I ask you to please help us reach this year’s Tishrei budget of $200,000 (that’s just for Tishrei). Please donate now online at CSSY.org or mail to CSSY 593 Montgomery St. Brooklyn, NY 11225.
Gmar Chasima Tova.
BH left a wonderful son Benjy to continue to help our community!
There are no substitutes for Shimshon & Martha. they were one-of-a-kind. Things REALLY went downhill here when they passed away…who looks after people the way they did.
I still miss them, I still glance up at their house as I pass hoping to get a glimpse & pass a few words. I am grateful for their friendship & love.
