770 Bochurim End Preparation

The monumental occasion of Teves 24, 5773 –the 200th anniversary of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi– was being marked months in advance by Chabad bochurim.

Students of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch at 770 Eastern Parkway have been studying the Tanya and Shulchan Aruch since Elul 18, the Alter Rebbe’s birthday.

600 bochurim who took part in the learning project have each received a booklet with the portion that they were requested to learn.

The idea for the project, encouraged by the Rebbe‘s choizer and 770 Mashpia Rabbi Yoel Kahn, has originated from the Rebbe’s request in a 5742 Farbrengen to divide the learning of the Alter Rebbe’s Torah.

Coordinating the project was Yaakov Yosef Raskin.
