The Talmud Torah Tiferes Mordechai Nadvorna in the Israeli city of Bnei Brak hosted a Chumash party last week with the Nadvorna Rebbe and the Modzitzer Rebbe in attendance.
Boys were dressed in their best and were given crowns to wear on their heads as their fathers paraded them around instilling in them a love for Torah and learning.
What caught the attention of many – and even emotional tears – was the sight of 6-year-old Shimon Chaim Shachar celebrating with his 73-year-old father R’ Shmuel Shachar.
As reported in the past, Shachar and his wife Mrs. Chaya Shahar were married for some 46 years until they have been blessed with a child. She was 65 years old at the time, making her the oldest woman in Israel to give birth — not far behind the world’s record holder in Spain (at 66 years and 358 days).
The miraculous birth at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Sava drew hearty Mazal Tov wishes from around the world. The couple credited the Nadvorna Rebbe’s blessing 3 years earlier for the success of the pregnancy.
Now, they were all united again in praise and thanks to Hashem for giving them a child who is continuing in their ways.
