Close to 7,000 members of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem received their own personalized pushkas yesterday, Purim Koton.
An annual membership gift for chayolim, the beautiful wooden pushka bearing the words “laHashem ha’aretz u’mloah” and the child’s name on stunning silver plaques on either side.
“We wanted to give the children a gift that would encourage chayolim to fulfill the Rebbe’s hora’ah about having a personal pushka attached to the wall of each child’s Cheder Tzivos Hashem,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, general of the Chayolei Tzivos Hashem brigade.
Pushkas were given out after a thrilling rally in honor of Purim Koton, with over 45 bases in Lubavitch communities worldwide participating.
“It was the first time our school joined the rally so many of them didn’t know what to expect,” says Base Commander Rochel Baila Wolffe of Lubavitch Primary Girls’ School, London.
“I couldn’t capture it all on camera, but the atmosphere and excitement in the room, and the pride they felt to be part of it was so special!” she added.
Chayolim were given incentives to nail the pushka into their walls, and already dozens of children have sent in pictures with the new addition to their rooms.
“I’m getting text and emails non-stop from parents,” says Margie Denburg, base commander at Cheder Chabad of Margate, Florida. “The pushkas are beyond beautiful and our students are so proud to have one.”
