70 out-of-town women arrived in Crown Heights for the N’Shei Ubnos Chabad 54th International Convention opening Friday, May 15.
The annual get-together of Chabad women began today with a lecture in 770, followed by “Davening with the Rebbe” and “Ohel.”
Cherna Light, an organizer, told COLlive they are opening the Shabbos Day meal to locals too and are expecting some 200 women.
The convention will mark the Hakhel year and the upcoming Shavous holiday.
The main session on Shabbos Day, at 4:00pm in Oholei Torah, will feature the gifted orator Rabbi Yossi Jacobson and Liorah De Koker of Johannesburg, an alumni of Machon Chana.
“We are expecting 600-700 ladies,” Light said.
On Friday night, a group called N’Shei Capella and Suri Levilev will be providing entertainment.
N’Shei Chabad is directed by Chana Popack, Shterna Spritzer and Cherna Light.

WITH ALL THE TRAGEDIES WE SUFFER AS A JEWISH NATION CAN’T # 2 JUST LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE AND LET THE SATAN STARVE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you’re worse than the misnagdim. the Rebbe wrote tens if not hundreds of letters to neshei chabad conventions, and pesonally addressed them twice a year one of them being before shavous.
agav they we’re organized by some of the same people.
shame on you.
I would have thought that with Chabad growing we would have so many more woman?! Why only 70 woman from out of town? The conventions that are out of Crown heights attracts hundreds.
#2 i hope you’re joking! your comment makes me want to throw up.
Shouldn’t be reporting about this (non-Lubavitch) event
BTW RAbbi Munitz is the main speaker.
