The excitement has been growing for the upcoming 120th birthday of the Rebbe on Yud Alef Nissan at Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey in New York, led by Menahel Rabbi Sender Lustig.
For the past four months, bochurim at the Mesivta have been preparing for the auspicious day with extra learning, davening and making an effort to excel in many areas, as part of a Mivtza organized by the Yeshiva’s bochurim Shluchim.
A large countdown clock on the wall of the Yeshiva has been counting down to the auspicious day, with the preparations beginning four months ago, on 11 Cheshvan, when the bochurim Shluchim announced a Mivtza which includes keeping sedorim and extra learning of the Rebbe’s Torah.
The Mivtza was launched during a special farbrengen with Shliach Rabbi Binyomin Scheiman who was flown in from Chicago.
During that Farbengen, the bochurim themselves resolved to learn an extra half hour every night, of their own initiative.
This learning has been going on steadily for 4 months, and is adding to the great excitement of the bochurim as they prepare for the special day.
The bochurim Shluchim who are coordinating the Mivtza are Levi Yarmov, Levi Engel, Yankel Raices, Moshe Kesler, Sholom Ceitlin and Avrohom Gorman.
“You can really feel the energy, and the atmosphere in the Yeshiva is transformed, as the bochurim are preparing for Yud Alef Nissan with a special chayus,” Rabbi Levi Tiechtel, a Mashpia in the Yeshiva, told COLlive.com.

It’s amazing to see how dedicated Rabbi Lustig and the hanhla are , I know that they have been getting some great groups of shluchim the last few years , it’s really one of the yeshivas with a big focus on the individual
It’s really underrated how successful this yeshiva has been in reestablishing the old monsey mesivta into a dynamic and bocher first institution kol hakavod
Just look at how happy the bochurim look it’s amazing to see I’m sure they get treated very nicely, awesome place!
Keep it up – bochurim and hanahala and shluchim!!!!!!
