Lubavitch emissaries are arriving in New York this week from all parts of the world for the Kinus Hashluchim—the annual get-together of emissaries, their parents, friends and supporters, and a record number are expected to attend this year.
Organizers have spent more than six months planning for the Chabad showcase weekend, which is expected to draw more than 5,200 from more than 80 nations around the world.
The theme of this year’s gathering, “Through Darkness a Shining Light”, will mark 20 years since Gimmel Tammuz, the anniversary of the passing of the Rebbe—Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, that will take place this coming year.
Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, chairman of the kinus committee and vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch noted that “the committee scoured the shluchim family and the long list of Chabad supporters and admirers to find two speakers that could accurately portray this year’s theme,” he said.

The police have no right to bother someone just for taking pictures on a public street. Ezagui was taking pictures, why shouldn’t this guy?
Did you count all the photos until #29?
Can someone please show photo #29 (children reading sign about hachnasa sifrei torah) to NYPD Anti-Terrorism Force Protection unit? The man to their left photographing intersection is suspicious…perhaps is full facial image is also seen on a store’s security video footage which can be obtained through the ATFP division.
