A full crowd filled the Oholei Torah ballroom in Crown Heights on Motzoei Shabbos for a festive Melave Malka that served as a “Tzeischem L’sholom” farewell farbrengen for guests of “Tishrei with the Rebbe.”
Having spent the entire month of Tishrei in New York, thousands of Yeshiva bochurim gathered to not only wrap up the uplifting holidays but to also take that inspiration to their next destination.
The evening opened with a video of the Rebbe and included remarks by Rabbi Moshe Kureweiz of the Chabad Yeshiva in Beit Shemesh, Shliach Rabbi Reuven Matusof of France, Rabbi Yitzchok Asklerod of the Bucharim Yeshiva in Kfar Chabad, and Rabbi Yosef Ginsburg of the Chabad Yeshiva in Ramat Aviv in Tel Aviv.
Rabbi Mendel Hendel, Director of Eshel Hachnosas Orchim which provided accommodations to thousands of Tishrei guests, thanked all those who volunteered and donated to their wide-ranging efforts and activities.
The evening included a surprise raffle in which 50 bochurim received a $50 stipend towards their airfare to New York. It was donated by an anonymous donor to Eshel. There were also raffles on sets of Seforim.
The gathering concluded with joyous dancing and a lengthy farbrengen until the late hours of the night with Rabbi Matusof and Petach Tikvah Shliach Rabbi Asher Deitsch.
