This past Motzei Shabbos, the Shluchim in Rishon Letzion, Israel gathered for their annual Kinus Hashluchim. The event was held at Leo hall, a popular venue in the city, and over 50 Shluchim and Shluchos attended.
Emceeing the evening’s program was Rabbi Yanon Sasson who introduced the Chabad Rov of the city, Rabbi Mordechai Tzvi Dubrawski, to open the proceedings with words of encouragement and brachos to the Shluchim. Afterward, Raz Kinstlich, mayor of Rishon Letzion, expressed his appreciation and admiration for the Shluchim’s work and promised to continue supporting Chabad’s growth in the city.
Noted lecturer and Shliach Rabbi Shneur Ashkenazi delivered a gripping talk about the challenges of Shlichus and suggested ways to successfully combat them.
A highlight of the event was a compilation of short clips that displayed the work of eight young Shluchim who have moved to the city in the past few years.
As the energy in the room grew more excited, Rabbi Yitzchok Gruzman, head Shliach to Rishon Letzion, announced to the impassioned crowd of Shluchim a slew of new initiatives in the city to be rolled out in the coming months. This was followed by a roll call announcing the names of each of the Shluchim spread across 35 neighborhoods of the city. At the conclusion of the roll call, a group photo was taken and a raffle for a ticket to travel to the Rebbe was drawn.
Special thanks were given by Rabbi Gruzman to Rabbi Sharon Goshen who, in addition to his work as a Shliach in the Rambam neighborhood, coordinates city-wide initiatives on behalf of Chabad, including the Kinnus Hashluchim. He concluded by announcing plans for a grand Hakhel event to take place in the near future.
