Wannado City in Fort Lauderdale, Florida looked more like “Wannajew” city on Monday, July 13th as camps from South Florida joined together for an inter-camp day in honor of Hakel and Unity.
Over 600 campers and staff participated in this incredible event.
At Wannado city, where kids can do what they wanna do, the campers were able to explore over 200 amazing jobs and activities. The children dressed as fire fighters went down a slide in full gear and entered the fire truck and put out a fire.
They then went on to become a police officer, banker, pilot, chef, reporter and even get a complete makeover at Glam Spot. They then visited the Jewelry Store and were able to design their very own fashion piece. They walked the runway in the Fashion House while paparazzi took their picture, interviewed the famous around Wannado City and watched their own report.
Some campers were even brave enough to sing their heart out at the new Radio Station recording studio and make their very own CD. Many campers even got to participate in their very own Broadway show. After all this the campers went on some incredible rides and watched an amazing interactive circus show by the Ringling Bros.
After a delicious lunch of pizza, fruit punch, and chips the campers and staff joined together for a grand rally.
Rabbi Shmuly Gutnick, director of Chabad Youth Network, distributed Tzedokah to all the children, and then called upon each camp to select two campers to recite a possuk from the twelve pesukim.
All the camps joined together in song and the energy of the Gan Izzy campers was incredible. Tickets were given out throughout the day for a raffle held at the Hakhel rally, and the winners were given state of the art bicycles.
The program ended with each camper receiving a freeze pop and a balloon of their own to take home.
Participating camps were CGI of Miami – Rabbi Mendy Weiss, CGI of Parkland – Rabbi Shuey Biston, CGI of Sunrise – Rabbi Levi Chanowitz, CGI of Boca Raton – Tammi Cohen, and CGI of Hallandale – Rabbi Levi Tennenhaus.

it was an amazing event, one the rebbe would definitely be proud of!!
there was one camp that had boys staff rabbi korfs,who were not there. at the rally there were only girls the boys that were thanked blew up balloons the night before so how about we thank the directors and start asking before attacking!!! a little benefit of the doubt and ahavas yisroel and maybe your community can have the same achdus as we do in florida

We totally rocked the house! Parkland is the best!!!! Thank you to all those who helped arrange this event! It was awesome! The kids loved it! They couldn’t stop raving about it! Counselors, you are the bestest in the whole entire worldest! We love you!

i am a girls counseler who was there. we didnt even see the boys counselers, i thought they didnt even come until i saw some of them cleaning up. it was a beautiful event with singing and pesukim as well as the fun and no boy girl mixing so maybe just try being dan l’kaf zchus.

U GUYS WERE REALLY THE MOST RUACHDIKE CAMP! I ENJOYED VERY MUCH LOOKING AT YOUR ENTIRE CAMP SING AND CHEER FOR THE REBBES CAMP! YASHER KOACH TO RABBI SHUEY BISTON ON ALL HIS HARD WORK AND EFFORT TO MAKE HIS CAMP TRULY THE BEST EXPIRENCE FOR THE KINDERLACH!
and it would be nice if there was some singing and more ruchniyus then just stam people having a great time which is important the first thing that comes to mind is

why so negative? only one camp has a boys staff and they had to be in a different area the whole time…if astaff member wants taaruvos he will get it regardless of being in the same place with the opposite gender..it was a great day and your just jealous…
