On the fifth night of Chanukah, over four hundred people celebrated together on the “Chanukah Train” arranged by Rabbi Yochanan and Baily Friedman of Chabad by the Sea in S. Cruz, CA.
The eight passenger cars, some open-top and some covered coaches, were decorated with thousands of lights shaped into dreidels, menorahs and the
words “happy Chanukah.”
During the hour-long ride through the streets of the city, passengers sang songs, played dreidel and enjoyed Chanukah treats. The children also got holographic glasses that turned each of the thousands of little lights into a Jewish themed decoration.
