Tzemach Tzedek Community Centre in Sydney, Australia has kindled a fresh burst of energy into Chanukah, with unique a initiative that blends modern technology with ancient tradition. Having previously featured unique 3D-printed menorahs in over 50 public locations across the city, including exclusive gourmet stores and large franchises, they’re looking to keep the flame of Yiddishkeit burning.
The modern design has captured the imagination of the wider Sydney community, sparking unexpected moments of connection. In one striking example, employees at a prominent alcohol retail chain – who were not Jewish – were so impressed by the menorah design that they rearranged their storefront. The staff voluntarily moved their existing holiday tree to the side, giving the prime position to the Tzemach Tzedek menorah to ensure it stood out to passersby.
Tzemach Tzedek is also currently running a Charidy campaign. The initiative aims to upgrade their premises and expand their vital programs.
