This year, Gan Israel Day Camps of Edgware, UK attracted over 310 children ages 4-12 from Edgware and North-West London for two weeks of fun and excitement.
The children enjoyed schedules packed with arts ‘n’ crafts, sports, giant inflatable slides and obstacle courses, sessions with the Happy Puzzle Company and more. The children were wowed by entertainment from professional balloon artists and bubble artists, a concert for the boys’ camp and professional dance classes for the girls’ camp. Added to that were weekly full-day trips to exciting theme-parks.
This year saw the development of a new division in both boys’ and girls’ camps for children ages 10-12 who were treated to a revamped, supercharged schedule and extra trips.
The boys’ camp’s theme was the 10 Mivtzoim and each day in learning and playing they were inspired to further their service of Hashem through Torah and Mitzvos. The Head staff of the boys’ camp were Tmimim Efraim Lerner and Bochi Broh, both of Melbourne, Australia. Their team of more than 20 talented counselors were Tmimim learning in Yeshivos in London, Manchester, Brunoy, Kiriyat Gat and elsewhere.
The girls’ camp’s theme was “Our town”. Each day they looked at the different organizations and services that make a town function and learned how to find lessons from each one in their service of Hashem. Head Staff of the girls’ camp were Perl Gorman, an Edgware local, and Moussia Kievman of Liverpool, UK. Their team of over 20 talented counselors were girls from London, Eretz Yisroel, France, Ukraine and the USA.
“The parents were thoroughly impressed with the staff,” commented Camp Directors Rabbi Yaron and Mrs Sarah Jacobs. “Every parent we spoke to complimented their enthusiasm, creativity and care and attention to every child. We were particularly impressed with the Chassidishkeit of the Bochurim. We’re now looking forward to next year.”
