30 Yeshivos Unite for Mitzvah Tank Parade

As the Yud Aleph Nisan Mitzvah Tank Parade approaches, Yeshivos from around the country are joining forces to raise funds for this annual celebration in honor of the Rebbe's birthday. The parade, which will see 2,000 Bochrim from 30 Yeshivas traveling on Mitzvah tanks, is a beloved event that highlights the importance of spreading the light of Pesach to Jews around New York City. Why are they charging $2500 for a tank? It costs about $200 a night for a decent RV. If they rent it for two nights plus gas and other expenses, let’s say it’s another $200, that’s $600. Add brochures, and matzah and other mivtzoyim items, plus expenses for the mitzva tank office, that’s still not even $1000. I remember it cost about $1200 to rent an RV plus menorahs for the whole Chanukah just a few years ago. I don’t understand why it costs $2500 for a tank for two days? Why are they charging so much?
