As the Yud Aleph Nisan Mitzvah Tank Parade approaches, Yeshivos from around the country are joining forces to raise funds for this annual celebration in honor of the Rebbe’s birthday. The parade, which will see 2,000 Bochrim from 30 Yeshivas traveling on Mitzvah tanks, is a beloved event that highlights the importance of spreading the light of Pesach to Jews around New York City. It is an effort that requires the support of the entire community.
The fundraiser, which is being hosted on each Yeshiva’s team page, will help make the parade a reality by providing the necessary funds for the Mitzvah tanks and Matzah that will be distributed to thousands of yidden. Support your sons Mivzoim by enabling them to spread the light of Pesach to Jews who may not have access to it otherwise.
“We fight darkness with light,” Said Rabbi Mordy Hirsch, director of the Mitzvah Tank office, “When it comes to the spiritual fight facing us these days, the Mitzvah tank is a force to be reckoned with.”
The Mitzvah Tank parade was dear to the Rebbe, comparing the Bochrim heading out on the tanks to soldiers going to war. The Rebbe explained that the Bochrim are to lead the battle against Jewish assimilation, ignorance and apathy, carrying Mitzvos as “ammunition”, and thus the Rebbe coined the term ‘Mitzvah Tank’.
This year’s Mitzvah Tank Parade promises to be an unforgettable event, filled with joy, unity and the spirit of Hakhel. By donating to the fundraiser, you play an active role in supporting this global gift in honor of the Rebbe’s 121st birthday.

Why are they charging $2500 for a tank? It costs about $200 a night for a decent RV. If they rent it for two nights plus gas and other expenses, let’s say it’s another $200, that’s $600. Add brochures, and matzah and other mivtzoyim items, plus expenses for the mitzva tank office, that’s still not even $1000. I remember it cost about $1200 to rent an RV plus menorahs for the whole Chanukah just a few years ago. I don’t understand why it costs $2500 for a tank for two days? Why are they charging so much?
