Men and boys of the Lubavitch community in Miami spent the morning hours of Sunday in preparation for Gimmel Tammuz, the Rebbe’s 23rd yartzeit.
Held at Congregation Beis Menachem of Miami Beach, participating men and boys were treated to in-depth learning in the vast treasure of the Rebbe’s teachings.
The learning day was organized in light of what the Rebbe himself included in the Hayom Yom publication: “You ask: What does your spiritual bond with me -your hiskashrus- consist of, since I do not know you by face…? True connection is attained by Torah study.”
The morning started off with the Rebbe’s Chassidus, taught by Maggid Shiur, Rabbi Nochum Schapiro. Schacharis was followed with a delicious breakfast for all those attending to enjoy.
Immediately after fathers and sons sat down to rigourously study the Rebbe’s Torah together.
The boys then continued on to an exciting children’s program, led by Rabbi A. Granet and Rabbi M. Cass. The boys sang the Rebbe’s Niggunim, recited the 12 Pesukim, watched a Rebbe video, and Farbrenged with much Chayus with Rabbi C. Stern.
The men’s first workshop was led by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Schapiro, Rov of Kehilas Bais Menachem of Miami Beach, who passionately spoke about the importance of Mivtza Tefilin, as we are now marking 50 years since the Rebbe launched this campaign.
Rabbi Eily Smith, Member of the Beis Din of South Florida, enthusiastically spoke about the Rebbe’s brilliant method of studying Torah.
Next, three honorable and distinguished doctors, Dr. A. Levin, Internal and Geriatric medicine, Dr. R. Freedman, Infectious Disease Specialist, and Dr. Y. Sandman, Urologist, were invited to a panel moderated by Rabbi Levi Friedman, Director of Chabad of FIU, to discuss the Rebbe’s guidelines, views and advice on medicine and health.
As a Teshura, each participant received the latest issue of the Chassidisher Derher.
Rabbi S. Reinetz, the organizer of this beautiful event, concluded with Hachlatos Tovos and instructions on how to prepare and conduct oneself on the Yom Hilula.
This event was sponsored by members of Beis Menachem of Miami Beach. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this event a reality and giving the Rebbe tremendous Nachas.
