The Matusof legacy lives on: The namesake of Mrs. Pessia Matusof, a Chabad Shlucha in Morocco who dedicated her life to helping and educating Jews, is being remembered by her descendants.
In the last few days, 3 Matusof cousins gave birth to baby girls one after the other.
On Yud Shvat, a girl was born to R’ Tanchoum and Chani Matusof (nee Raskin) of Monaco.
On Yud Aleph Shvat, a girl was born to R’ Arele and Chaya Matusof of Calgary, Canada.
And today on Yud Bais Shvat, a girl was born to Eliezer and Chaya Mushka Ashkenazi (nee Matusof) of Tzfat, Israel.
Since they were the first girls born in the family after the passing of Mrs. Matusof 3 months ago at the age of 86, needless to say, all 3 newborn babies were named after her.
“The names and timing are very fitting, as Pessia Matusof was the first shlucha of the Rebbe, whose nesius began on Yud Shvat,” a member of the family noted to COLlive.com.
Mazal Tov to all. The maiden name of Chaya Matasof is Krinsky.
Chani is on Shlichus in Monaco, originally from Montreal

This is very nice! Matusof’s are such a wonderful family and so united. Madame Matusof loved her family dearly, her children, grandchildren and great granchildren were the apple of her eyes. she kept them strong together, and still today after her passing she keeps them strongly united in the 4th generation with her name. We miss her so much!
May the new Pessias live up to their name!
