Thursday was a special day for the Jewish Russian Community Center of Montreal, Canada.
Two Jewish men, Alec and Sergei, decided to undergo a bris milah following the positive influence and teaching of Rabbi Yisroel Sirota, the Shliach for Russian speaking Jews.
They were named Yitzchak and Shaul, respectively.
Present were Rabbi Pesach Sperlin, Director of Chabad Montreal West; Rabbi Shmuel Zalmanov, and Rabbi Avram Banon, Youth Director at Chabad of Chomedey & Laval.
And after fulfilling the first commandment given by G-d to Abraham, the first Jew, the two put on Tefillin for the first time in their life and celebrated their Bar Mitzvah on the same day.
With one of them being a first-born, a third ceremony was held: a Pidyon Haben of redeeming firstborn sons after they reach 30 days of age.
All in all, the 21st of Adar was a special day at the center.
