24 participants graduated from Kadima L’Chinuch, an intensive teacher training course by the Menachem Education Foundation (MEF).
Created with the goal of building Chabad Chinuch by placing trained teachers in our school’s classroom, the program covered all aspects of effective teaching, including classroom management, lesson preparation and pedagogy, while providing hands-on teaching experience.
The graduation took place in Crown Heights, a few days before Gimmel Tammuz, an appropriate time to focus on Chinuch, one of the Rebbe’s central causes. Graduates and attendees heard moving addresses about the importance of Chinuch from the program’s leaders and guest speakers.
Rabbi Levke Kaplan, Program Director and Master of Ceremonies, opened the evening and reflected on the dedication and passion of the participants and how many have already accepted teaching positions across the country for the coming school year.
Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Director of MEF, shared an encouraging message about the necessity of Chinuch involvement, and how MEF will support the graduates to ensure their success as teachers.
Rabbi Yosef Braun, Member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, addressed the graduates with a message about the unique role teachers have according to Torah and Chassidus.
Kadima L’chinuch Graduate, Rabbi Yitzchak Shur, thanked the program leaders and reflected on how the “Kadima L’Chinuch course taught the intricacies of being a teacher, such as lesson planning and classroom management, which were a great preparation to take on this special role.”
Although the training program has concluded, Kadima L’Chinuch leaders are working to place graduates in suitable teaching positions for the coming school year. In addition, program participants will receive mentorship during their first year of teaching, so they can positively impact their students, and raise a generation of confident Torah learners.
“I feel honored to be part of this program, and I am inspired by the dedication, quality and passion that those who are choosing Chinuch are investing into this Shlichus. Each participant is a gem, and will make a tremendous impact on the children in our communities for decades to come,” said Rabbi Shneur.
The Menachem Education Foundation thanks Tzvi and Simmie Gellman for making this program possible, and being pillars of Chabad Chinuch.
