Bochurim Binyomin Lipchik of Chovevei Mesivta, Tzvi Mordechai Teichtel of Chicago Mesivta, Levi Uminer of Baltimore Zal and Chaim Hillel Korf of Toronto Mesivta, were the winners of the highest marks on this year’s grand Halikut test of Likkutei Sichos Cheilek Chof Hei. Over 230 bochurim from around the world qualified to take part in the finals this year.
They were tested on stage by Rabbi Yoel Kahn, Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, and Rabbi Leibel Schapiro, narrated by Rabbi Shmuel Avtzon.
The spellbound crowd watched as the Bochurim proved their knowledge on a full Sefer of Likkutei Sichos, and had the testers amazed as the questions posed heightened in their intensity.
The competition was won by Hatomim Levi Uminer of Baltimore Zal, who was gifted the first place prize of all the Rebbe’s Seforim in Kehos.
The competition followed a test taken by the 230 Bochurim from across America and Canada who were granted permission by their Yeshivas to attend. The Bochurim sat for one and a half hours scanning their memory on the Likkutei Sichos, after months of preparation.
The program concluded with a Banquet dinner addressed by MC Rabbi Leima Wilhelm with divrei hisorerus by Rabbi Yoel Kahn. The keynote address was given by Rabbi Eli Nosson Silverberg of Chicago.
A special video presentation was shown about the Rebbe’s appreciation to those who learned his Sichos, generously dedicated by Rabbi Moshe Klein of Hasofer.
Thanks were given to Halikut’s generous donors, Moshe Klein, Hillel Dovid Krinsky, Sholom Laine, Yossi Katz, Keren Meromim, and an anonymous donor, and to Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky for all his assistance.
Thanks were also given to the Vaad Hatmimim led with dedication by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Altein, together with Halikut’s organizers Tzvi Alperowitz, Boruch Ceitlin and Peretz Garelik.
A special thank you was expressed to Rabbi Yosef Geisinsky of Great Neck and the Chabad house team led by Rachel Sellem, for hosting the Siyum and to Mendel Goldman and Shneur Itzinger for their countless hours of extraordinary work.
Halikut program is a project of Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, in collaboration with the shluchim of the participating yeshivos.
