200 Join ‘Mivtzoim Era’ Panel

On Isru Chag, 24 Tishrei, over 200 Anash, Tmimim, and guests filled the JCM hall to participate in a historic panel covering the transformative years of Lubavitch, 5733-5735 (1973-1975).

The panelists were:

Rabbis Sholom Duchman, Director of Colel Chabad, Yosef Gopin, Shliach in West Hartford, CT, Yosef Gerlitzky, Shliach in Tel-Aviv, Israel and Kasriel Kastel of Tzierei Agudas Chabad, NY. The panel was moderated by Hatomim Bentzion Pearson.

Shortly after the moderator introduced the panelists, the program became very animated and engaging as the panelists delved deeply into that special era, sharing episodes and activities from that period in Lubavitch history.

A highlight of the event was when Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad, shared an incident about an attack on the prestige of Lubavitch, which the Rebbe spoke about in the Farbrengen of 10 Shevat 5735, and with the assistance of attorney Mr. Jerry Shestak, he successfully neutralized it.

At the conclusion of the program Rabbi Yosef Katzman, who was a young bochur during that period, shared his impressions of that time period, and specifically about the evolution of the “mivtzoim routes”.

The panel was very informative, inspiring the participants to learn more about this most special period in Lubavitch history, inspiring them to become even more actively involved in the Rebbe’s mivtzoim.

The panel was followed by a lively Farbrengen with several of the panelists, sharing precious memories from that time period and encouraging the crowd to be more active in all the Rebbe’s activities.

The program was organized by the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim HaOlami as part of the all encompassing and successful Tishrei program this year.
