Aliya is the first Chabad House in the world that was designed for “Inreach” instead of Outreach!
Established in 2002, A.L.I.Y.A. (Alternative Learning Institute for Young Adults) has been committed to serving the spiritual, physical, educational, emotional and vocational needs of young adults in Crown Heights.
In 2006, the board of Aliya successfully found a permanent home on E New York Ave, which enabled us to consolidate its activities into one central location. Aliya began providing a local ‘round the clock’ center for our community’s young adults. Since its purchase, the building has undergone extensive construction, modernizing and expanding it to fit our needs. The prominent youth center features a shul, learning space, gym, lounge, outdoor deck and even a mikva.
At Aliya we offer many invaluable activities geared to provide a loving and accepting space for our members. This includes:
● Tuesday night basketball
● Friday Tefillin booth
● Thursday night farbrengens
● daily lunch-and-learns
● nightly dinners and shiurim
● Shabbos and Yom Tov meals
● job connections
● inspirational speakers
● winter and summer shabbatons
● couples workshops
We provide guidance in recommending therapists and funding them when needed. Our newest initiatives include a younger division for under 18’s, and we recently launched Aliya couples, offering programs for the community’s next generation of Jewish families.
There are currently four Rabbis on the Aliya team available around the clock. Local youth and young adults visit Aliya for guidance in all aspects of life, including career navigation, spiritual and emotional wellbeing, and most importantly, a loving community.
The newest addition to Aliya is the beautifully modernized, luxurious Mikva. Designed to be used by one person at a time, it is a revolutionary concept. Built in loving memory of our Aliya member Moishe Deitsch, the ribbon cutting will be a hallmark moment of the gala event.
The upcoming dinner will feature a wide variety of entertainment. Solos and duets will be performed by renowned headlining artists Benny Friedman and Shulem Lemmer. Simon Jacobson, keynote speaker, will share his thoughts on connection and the power of the youth in our generation.
Continual partners and members Abe White, Lavie Popack, Mordy Fink, and Mendy Boaron will be event honorees.
Our Charidy campaign will run throughout the event and every donation will be doubled by Aliya’s honorees. The night’s entire program will be streamed live for at-home viewing.
We do not just save lives, we make them! Join us to celebrate 20 years of connection and community. Come in person or watch at home, show how you care for our future.
