The recent celebration at Magen Israel School is a prime example of the amazing experiences that children can have when they come together in unity. Joined with Cheder Chabad Girls of Long Island, this Hakhel event was filled with singing, dancing and joy, creating a warm and positive atmosphere that the students will remember for years to come.
The program began with Mrs. Tamar Chayempour, the school’s director, sharing first-hand stories about the Rebbetzin with the students. The lunchroom was beautifully decorated with art of the Rebbetzin and was filled with pink roses, one of the Rebbetzin’s favorite flowers.
In addition to the enjoyable activities, the celebration also carried an important message about unity and the concept of כל כבודה בת מלך פנימנה, meaning that every girl is a daughter of the King internally. This concept highlights the importance of recognizing the divine spark within each person, regardless of their background or beliefs. By coming together in a celebration of the Rebbetzin, the students were able to learn and internalize this important message.
The students then went on to sing “The Garden,” a Busi Legani song, and “A Child I Was.” They also made beautiful tambourines decorated with pink roses. The students watched a video of the Rebbe and finished the event with an ice cream bar for dessert, another one of the Rebbetzin’s favorite treats to serve.
This special celebration brought the Cheder Chabad Girls of Long Island and Magen Israel schools together in harmony and showcased the love and admiration for our revered Rebbetzin.
The Hakel dancing with the tambourines was a symbol of unity, bringing the students together in a shared experience. It emphasized the idea of “Hakhel,” which means unity and togetherness, as the students joined hands and danced with one another. This experience reinforced the importance of working together as a community, regardless of individual differences, and the power of coming together in unity. May we be zoche for complete Hakhel in Yerushalayim.
