Chabad of Georgia announced the first two young Chabad rabbis that will be moving to Atlanta to learn in a new Dayanus Kollel to become a judge in a Rabbinical court.
Rabbi Avi Shlomo will be moving with his wife Chanie and child, and Rabbi Sender Lustig will be moving with Rochel and their child in early August to begin a three year training course in dayanus.
The Dayanus Program, the initiative of Georgia’s Head Shliach Rabbi Yossi New, will cover much of Even Haezer and Choshen Mishpat as well as practical American law as it pertains to Din Torahs.
The rabbis in training will also receive practical shimush from different Beis Dins in America. They and they wives will also be involved in creating learning opportunities for members in the community.
Rabbi Dovid Schochet, President of Vaad HaRabbonim of Ontario, and Rabbi Michael Broyde of Atlanta, former director of the Beis Din of America, are among the names mentioned as overseeing the learning structure.
