    I remember I aced the first few tests but didn’t really think it was a big deal, so I stopped trying. A kid in my class ended up winning the Chidon. This was like 12 years ago. Nowadays it’s really the cool thing to do, and it’s incredible to see kids all over the place working so hard.

    As a Menahel in an elementary school, I 100% appreciate the importance and significance of the Chidon. However, as stated by number 5, I really don’t understand this emphasis of pitting schools against schools. Across the USA and the world, each school caters to a specific demographic, each school doing their best to inspire their students in their Yiddishkeit. The Chidon is one way, but it’s not the only way and it’s not for everyone.
