150 people attended the Annual Center For Judaism Public Menorah Lighting at the Semiahmoo Shopping Center in Surrey/White Rock, British Columbia.
MLA Marvin Hunt, MLA Stephanie Cadieux, Mayor Walker, Deputy Mayor of Langley Rudy Storteboom, Councillors Linda Annis, Helen Fathers, Erika Johanson, and Christopher Trevelyan all joined the celebration and brought greetings from their cities and from the government of British Columbia.
Shluchim Rabbi Falik and Simie Schtroks welcomed participants and gave Chanukah greetings.
Mr. Moshe Fidelman was honored with lighting the Menorah as a tribute to him for being part of the miracle of the Jewish people.
Chazzan Yaakov Orzech lit the Menorah and sang Chanukah songs. Magnificent musical entertainment was provided by the talented Adina Ragettli who enthralled the audience when playing Jewish songs on the harp.
Joshua Zev Switzer was awarded the Center For Judaism Young Lamplighter Award.
Not to be forgotten was a game of “Let’s Make a Chanukah Deal” as well as donuts, chocolate gelt and an appearance by Dreidel Man. So many faces, young and old left extremely inspired by what they termed as perhaps our best program yet.

Wow! Looks like a beautiful event! Thank you Falik and Simie for all of your hard work! It really shows!
This looks like a really great and inspiring event! Kudos to the Schtroks for brightening Surrey and the surroundings!
