12 Mitzvah Tanks headed out to the Metro Detroit area on Wednesday, in honor of the upcoming day of Yud Alef Nissan, the Rebbe’s 120th birthday.
Chabad Lubavitch of Michigan and the Friday Mivtzoim Boys of Yeshiva Detroit Zekelman Campus organized the parade, which drew media attention as they headed out to the streets of Detroit to bring the Rebbe’s message to thousands.
“Recently in the news, we are hearing about a different type of tank, which brings destruction. The tanks we have are on a different mission,” said Rabbi Geisinsky of Chabad Gingham Farms, MI. “They allow people the chance to do a Mitzvah on the street.”
Shliach Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov of Chabad Lubavitch of Michigan said, “this is a tank that goes through all boundaries, all limitations, but to bring the beauty, light and the warmth of Judaism to each member of the community.”
Kol hakavod to the shluchim in the Detroit yeshivah, and the surrounding city’s!
