Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs, in conjunction with Lubavitch media site COLlive.com, have announced a worldwide “Elevator Pitch” contest, targeting the growing entrepreneurial community within the Chabad world.
Contestants are invited to upload a 30-60 second video with their sales pitch describing their business or service and the benefits it can provide potential clients, and will be judged by the wider community on their performance and presentation. Contenders with the most votes will be judged by a professional business development panel, with the winner receiving a gift package worth over $10,000 in business services including $1,000 cash.
“There is a growing interest in entrepreneurship within the Lubavitch community,” said Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, Director of CHYE and coordinator of the Elevator Pitch challenge. “This is the perfect opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to gain exposure for their business, and to hone valuable pitching skills that will greatly benefit their business futures.”
Participants in the competition will receive professional training from acclaimed business coach Joe Apfelbaum, CEO of Ajax Union, a leading Brooklyn-based digital marketing firm. The class will be delivered online, after which contestants will be able to upload their pitching videos and petition for votes.
Werde hopes the Elevator Pitch Challenge will garner widespread communal interest and involvement.
“This is an exciting new initiative, Werde said. “It is a great way to help support business growth within the Lubavitch community.”
