Some 1000 people gathered at Chabad of the Valley’s headquarters in Tarzana, California on Wednesday night to observe and commemorate Gimmel Tammuz, the 15th Yahrzeit Hilulah of the Rebbe.
The evening was sponsored by Gary & Rochelle Finder and Family and, as always, a full dinner was served to all.
A short inspirational talk was given by Rabbi Yehoshua B. Gordon, Executive Director of Chabad of the Valley, as well as a heartwarming speech by Gary Finder, sponsor.
The evening was very ably emceed by Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder, Associate Director of the organization who also introduced the guest speaker — in a masterful way.
Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, guest speaker, spoke for nearly an hour regaling the crowd with story after story including many personal experiences he was privileged to have with the Rebbe. As he spoke, there was recurring applause, occasional laughter and even some tears. His closing message was a quote of the Rebbe, “if we are all the same tomorrow as we are today, then we have accomplished nothing.”
