Yom Hazikaron, Memorial Day in Israel, begins with a one-minute siren which plunges the country into silence.
Everyone stands at attention in honor of the 23,741 fallen IDF soldiers and 3150 civilians killed in terror attacks, included in that number, the four victims of the most recent barrage of rockets from Gaza.
Rabbi Menachem Kutner, Director of Chabad’s Terror Victims Project (CTVP), spent the day accompanying families who have lost their loved ones as they participated in special ceremonies where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi.
Rabbi Kutner brought comfort to the families and the knowledge that Jews around the world stand as one with them and will never forget the ultimate sacrifice made by their loved ones.
