Berale Shainer, a Lubavitcher photographer whose photos appeared on COLlive.com and other frum publications, concluded this past year with an impressive accomplishment.
Every Friday, Shainer leaves his home in the Israeli city of Lod and heads out on Mivtzoim as the Rebbe has encouraged every chossid to do.
Ahead of Rosh Hashana 5780, Shainer tallied the results of his weekly outreach rounds over 54 Fridays and Erev Yomim Tovim that lasted over 108 hours. During this time, he helped put on Tefillin on 1,008 men and distributed 6,634 Shabbos candles to women and girls.
“The truth is that it wasn’t easy at all,” Shainer says. “It requires sacrifice from both me and my family. My family are the ones who made the 6,634 Shabbos candle sets this year. And of course, you can’t forget the members of the team that joined me every week for the whole year. ”
“I missed 2 Fridays during the entire year,” he says. “Once in Adar and once by Gimmel Tammuz which I spent with the Rebbe in New York.”
Shainer says that even while at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights and at the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens, he still had “a sense of missing out” his regular Mivtzoim routine.
And he’s sure looking forward to continuing this coming year.

So inspiring!
