NCFJE To Host Large Lag B’Omer Hakhel Rally and Outing
In honor of Lag B’Omer and Shnas Hakhel, the National Committee for the Furtherance of Jewish Education has organized a spectacular program on Thursday, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, for all ages to be held in the Old Boys and Girls School Field on 708 Maple St, corner of Troy Avenue.
“It is a venue where we were zoche to have the Rebbe visit the Lag B’Omer outings numerous times, most recently in 5751,” said Rabbi Shimon Hecht, Director and emcee of the program. “We wanted a location where we can accommodate more children and adults than usual to join together in the spirit of Hakhel, but still have a location where the Rebbe joined us and we felt this would be the most appropriate and accommodating space.”
The program is headlined by a Sicha from Lag B’Omer 5727, in which the Rebbe explains the connection between Lag B’Omer and Hakhel, and was recently remastered by JEM. It will also feature Flippenout – high-flying, world-record holding trampoline athletes, and Chaim Fogelman, who will be joined by special guests for a performance celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 12 Pesukim.
Parents who would like to join can get wristbands at the NCFJE office at 824 Eastern Parkway Tuesday-Wednesday from 10am to 5pm. For more information email [email protected]
We look forward to a most successful Lag B’Omer outing, and we are confident this will bring nachas to our Rebbe. The staff at the NCFJE would like to thank those who are supporting and will support to make this program a success.

For Women: Moshiach Cruise
Generation’s “Great & Glorious Hakhel Convention on Lag B’omer, Thursday, 18 Iyar, May 26, is coinciding with a very exciting day in New York Harbor: Fleet Week. U.S. Navy battleships, cruisers and air force carriers will be on view. Included among the ships is the Kingston (!) from the Royal Canadian Navy. The convergence of these ships may be accompanied by air shows.
Since this 9th Annual Convention is honoring the mitzvah of Hakhel, the Moshiach Cruise is hosting mothers, girls and babies, just as were present in the Hakhel of long ago in the Beis Hamikdosh, to hear the Torah read by the King.
Free transportation is available to and from the boat at 2100 Emmons Avenue in Sheepshead Bay. Bus leaves from the corner of Kingston and President Street at 3:30 PM. The four-hour Cruise returns at 9 PM. Bus should be back in Crown Heights by 9:30 PM.
Mirele Rosenberger will provide live music, an important feature of every Lag B’omer celebration. The popular entertainer Shoshana Bander will lead a Sing-Along.
Inspiring speakers include: Nurit Sarytchev of Russian Junior Nshei, Pearl Lebovic, shlucha in Maplewood, NJ, and Avigail Halevy.
Catering is by Tzipporah Hahn, Kosher Party Planner.
The highlight of the program will be the auction of a Rebbe Dollar from 1988. Many miracles happened and are happening through these “Sunday dollars,” now in great demand.
People can register/pay online at www.GeulahGeneration.com.
