The Montreal community gathered Tuesday for a Siyum Harambam and Kinus Hakhel, marking the 34th completion of the Rambam.
The event took place with the participation of Rabbis and community members, anash and temimim.
The Siyum began with Rabbi Shmuel Kramer, who opened with a Dvar Malchus, words from the Rebbe, on the importance of learning Rambam.
The Siyum was made by Rabbi Dovid Banon, member of the Beis Din of the city and Shliach in Laval, Canada.
The beginning of the new cycle was read by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Kaplan, Rosh Yeshiva of Tomchei Temimim in Montreal.
The guest speaker for the evening was Rabbi Yisroel Shimon Kalmenson, of Vaad Sichos Kodesh in Lashon Hakodesh, of New York.
Rabi Kalmenson spoke about the emphasis the Rebbe placed on learning the daily Rambam.
Afterwards, Rabbi Yochanan Wosner, rav of the Skver Kehila, spoke.
After the formal program, Rabbi Kalmanson farbrenged with participants late into the night.
