A halachic gathering was organized by the Beis Din of Crown Heights, in connection with Shavuos – when rabbonim would come to New York to spend the holiday with the Rebbe.
The emcee was Rabbi Levi Garelik, a posek in Crown Heights and Brussels, Belgium. Opening it was Rabbi Yoel Kahn, the Rebbe’s choizer, with a dvar malchus.
Among the speakers were Badatz member Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, Rabbi Moshe Bogomilsky and Rabbi Menachem Meir Weissmandl, a kashrus expert and Nitra Rav of Monsey who cooperates with the CHK supervision in Postville, Iowa.
Following lunch, a session led by dayan Rabbi Shlomo Segal discussed the challenges that face the frum community with technological advances.
An example of positive usage of technology was given by Rabbi Elkana Shmotkin, Director of Jewish Educational Media (JEM), which produces videos of the Rebbe and chassidic life.
He treated the rabbis with unseen footage of the Rebbe responding to personal matters – similar to what the rabbis deal with themselves in their communities.
Another speaker was Rabbi Berel Levine, head librarian at the Agudas Chassidei Chabad Library who authored the new and edited edition of the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch.
Participants thanked Rabbi Berel Levertov, Rabbinical Administrator of CHK kosher who organized the gathering.

But it should be addressed to the first Rabbi who wrote a letter accusing his colleague (dem Rebbens Rov) of being the worst person on earth, with all kind of names, and sent it to all CH houses, thinking that by belittling his colleague he’ll get big.
The Rabbi who start with sending such a letters broke any Achdus & any Kovod horabbonim a, and started a major fight.
Why can’t we have 2 battei dinim. end of story. no more fights. everyone can choose which beis din they want to go to.
Rabbi Osdoba and Reb Yoel are the best. Good to see them together and without those who are not the best.
As a member of this community for many years and a working mother, this is sad.
Please lets not hear the negative; it does not help Anything.
Many people frum and those who are becoming or considering becoming frum as well as our children who are so impressionable read this and as a lubavitch publication, writing and posting these negative comments can only turn people off, and dishearten them.
In these difficult times, lets please focus on the Good only.
We NEED Moshiach already, and the only way to bring him is through Achdus!!!!
Why can’t people see this, and break their ego a little for the sake of sholom and ahavas yisorel!!

Rabbi Braun called rabbi weismandel the famous rav hamachshir ab”d nitra Monsey, and asked him not to attend the meeting, Rabbi Wessmandel answered : I know Rabbi Osdoba for over 30 years, you I don’t know at all, why should I listen to you?? r’ braun got upset and started threatening him, to which rabbi weissmandel answered…. Wow.. now you’re acting like an Hungarian, but I’m not afraid I’m also Hungarian. Most of the rabbonim were threatened before the meeting, some were screamed at even after the meeting , A new Hungarian derech.

I was very involved in organizing this meeting. Almost ALL out of town rabbonim were threatened by other side שמור נפשך “do Not come to the Assifah”, some of them were threatened by R. Braun himself, , unfortunately that’s the truth, otherwise the place would have ALL rabbonim.
It looks like a great gathering. Wish I was there. Hatzlocha Rabba!
Why is it, that all these Choseve Rabonim get together, and us, regular guys, had no clue about it? What was the purpose if nobody benefited from it, only the Rabbonim in the JCM? I’ts like preaching to the choir!
The other Rabbonim gathered as well, but can they even sit together at one meeting for a few hours?????

My bet is that before the 3 Weeks there will be an Asifa from the other team. Odds are 3-1.
