Last week on a warm, clear day in Monsey, NY, Bochurim learning in Lubavitch Yeshiva of Monsey enjoyed a lunch break hiking in the Kakiet Mountains.
The Bochurim were treated to a hike as a reward for completing a Shaklah V’tariah Mivtzah in Iyun.
The Mivtzah took off on Yud Shvat after inspired at a Farbrengen. The Bochurim took on Hachlotos to now continue with the Hachana that they had been working on for Yud Shvat all the way through Yud Aleph Nissan. Accomplished in the Mivtzah so far was the memorization of over 3 blat of Gemara, Rashi, Tosfos, after which each Bochur repeated it over to their Maggid Shiur.
Their hike was complete with reaching vistas where they could see a view of New York City, over 20 miles away. Later, the Shluchim brought them to Rabbi Silverstein’s house where they concluded with a barbeque and Farbrengen with Rabbi Silverstein.
